Feu fantôme features Morgane, the film’s director, facing Eloan, the boy who raped her 7 years ago. They meet around a campfire, the symbolic site of their first encounter, to talk about this regrettable event. While this conversation doesn’t soften the guilt of the rape committed or heal the wounds suffered, it does foreshadow a society in which the insidious violence of gender domination is finally confronted – through dialogue.
