Asude is 17. She lives in rural Lower Bavaria and studies for her high school diploma. Her real goal is to be kickbox champion, the number one. Her sisters are supporting her. When their parents left Turkey to look for employment in Germany, their grandparents, who were the first to search a better life far from home, had already retired and returned to Istanbul. Asude is quiet, not tall, wears glasses, and her team-mates are mostly male. Her first fight as a member of the German national kickboxing team will be at the European championships in Skopje, and of all people her opponent is from Turkey.
