The second edition of RIFE took place in Smolyan, Bulgaria from 7 to 12 July 2022.
Films from Germany, Turkey, Ukraine, Greece, Israel, Austria, Bulgaria, etc. were shown at the festival.
Over 700 films were submitted for the competition, but after a selection, the best 30 films were shown.
On the last two days of the festival, July 11 and 12, new Bulgarian documentaries that were out of competition were screened.
The official opening of the Festival took place on July 7, 2022 in the city of Smolyan with the film “Voev”, Bulgaria, 2022, under the open sky.
On July 10, an outdoor concert of the attractive funk-jazz-ethno group CINGA MANGA FUNK was held in the Amphitheater space of the Smolyan Cultural Complex, which officially closed the competitive programs of the festival.
All screenings were free.
